Prepress and approvals
Here are some requirements for printing materials and the approval process for new productions.
Basic requirements
Graphic materials provided by customers are adapted to the technological requirements of our machines. To achieve accurate printing results, graphic materials should meet the following conditions:
- File formats: CDR, AI, EPS, PDF.
- Raster images should have a resolution of not less than 225 dpi (preferably 300 dpi) and be in CMYK color system.
- Files should be saved in gross format, which means that 3 millimeters of bleeds should be added to the print dimensions. In addition, please provide the net format with a border or cutout.
- PSD objects, shadows, transparent and tonal transitions should be included in the TIFF file on a single layer.
Vector objects applied to the raster image should be in the form of curves with specific CMYK or Pantone colors. - Fonts should be converted to curves.
- Text or graphic elements should be at least 5 mm away from the cut line.
- Texts in black can only contain 100% black in them, they should not be inflicted with black composed of 4 colors.
Additional notes:
- The file should not contain masks, alpha channels or any print settings.
- We accept unprepared files in AI or PDF formats, as long as they have the desired print overlays and no Pantone colors in the graphics. Alternatively, you can provide two versions of the file: one with the die-cut drawing and one without.
- Please send the file via email (up to 30 MB) or via links (e.g. WeTransfer, Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.)
Print and design approval:
The design of the package is approved on the basis of samples of unopened plotters, made of the same raw material as in the quote.
Artwork is approved on the basis of digital proofs, accurately reflecting the final print in terms of CMYK colors on the packaging and layout. PANTONE colors are matched to the PANTONE color book.
